4Pretty great for gaming laptop
By kevin burkett
I ended up buying this laptop through aafes (currently in the military deployed overseas) because they're the only ones I found that recognised USPS lifting the shipping ban on lithium batteries back in November which made shipping a little difficult but it only took a week to ship and overall even though i've only had it for a week now it seems pretty decent for the price. It's stats are definitely worth the price between the Intel i7 CPU, 2 nvidia GTX 675M 2GB graphics card and 4 RAM slots with 2 4GB RAM sticks already in it, incredibly quiet, optional secondary fan you can turn on/off depending on internal temperature, and the backlight keyboard/THX sound quality speakers are pretty boss too.Only downsides I found were that for one the laptop and power-supply are a little more bulky than I expected, not too much but for a gaming laptop it doesn't surprise me just makes it difficult to find a case for it, and the battery life pretty much lasts no more than 2-3 hours, but then again for a gaming laptop it doesn't really surprise me, just more annoyances than actual issues.Overall, shipping wasn't too bad besides finding someone that would ship to APO oversease, but it came here in one piece and worked awesomely from the start so for my first high-end laptop i'd say it's a pretty decent deal, hoping to try skyrim and black-ops 2 on it eventually to see how it handles. It's definitely better than my 2-year-old POS $400 college laptop i'm replacing it with and i'm definitely planning on going back to ibuypower to get parts for my desktop later on

1Not a reliable company!
By Brent E. Novak
I did not order my iBUYPOWER from Amazon (got it through the military PX system (AAFES)), but had such a negative experience, I thought it important to pass it on to all potential iBUYPOWER customers.Bottom Line: I severely question iBuyPower's ability to stay in business given that they don't understand that customer satisfaction is the key component to repeat and word of mouth customers. I was wholly unsatisfied with my experience. They promised me a great computer at a great price, and instead, I wound up with no computer and countless hours spent trying to get them to fix their mistake. The Details: I took advantage of Black Friday deals to order a Christmas present.23 NOV - I ordered a computer. Was very excited because I got what would be $1800 - $2000 computer from a known company (Alienware or Toshiba) for under $1400. Plus a $70 mail-in rebate.27 Nov - Only four days and I got the computer. The hard part was going to be waiting or Christmas.25 DEC - Finally got play with my Christmas present, only to discover that the left/right buttons on the mouse pad didn't work - right out of the box.27 DEC - FEDEXed the computer iBuyPower to get fixed. After waiting what I deemed an appropriate amount of time with no communication from iBuyPower, I sent a series of emails and/or phone calls to get updates on my computer. First, it was with the `tech guys.' Then it was sent to the manufacturer for repair. Then it was back with the `tech guys.' I was frustrated with the lack of communication from iBuyPower (I had to initiate all contact), and the snail like pace they were taking to repair my computer. It only took them four days to ship me my new computer, why was this taking so long?31 JAN - I get my computer back. Yes! Time for me to now fully check out my new computer! Only the SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. To this day I am still flummoxed over the fact that they could have the computer for over a month and have the gall to send it back to me with the same problem.1 FEB - I send them back the computer.7 FEB - I receive confirmation that they have the computer. I call them and explain that I'm not real excited to have to wait another month for them to fix a problem that the computer had fresh out of the box. I either wanted them to just send me a new computer (it only took four days last time), or refund the money. I was told if they refunded my money, that I would be charged for all of the shipping for sending my computer back and forth to get repaired. So I said just send me a new one. The operator on the phone seemed to think this was reasonable and feasible but he couldn't authorize that and would have to call me back. He never did.12 FEB - I called back. Talked to a different operator, went through the same conversation I had on 7 FEB. She said she couldn't authorize that, so I asked to be put on with the person who could. I was then put on hold for a few minutes. A man then picked up the phone (I later found out this was Bryan), and said they would ship me a new computer, and that he didn't need any further information from me. Great! A little abrupt, but OK - I'm getting what I want.25 FEB - After patiently waiting for two weeks (What the heck, it only took four days last time!), I call back to customer service. The operator doesn't see anything in the system about sending me a new computer, but does manage to get me Bryan's extension so I could call him direct (tomorrow).26 FEB - I get in touch with Bryan, and after at first confusing me with a different customer, he tells me that he is waiting for the manufacturer to send him a new one, but will find out what is going on. He puts me on hold, and after a few minutes, comes back on and says that he is tired of getting the run-around with the manufacturer, and he doesn't want to deal with it anymore, so he is going to just refund my money. Despite all the time on hold, weeks without a computer, and general run-around, this is where I have the biggest problem. Bryan wasn't interested in creating a satisfied customer. I wasn't asking for free upgrades or free stuff to make up for my hardship, I just wanted a working computer that I had paid for. And it wasn't worth it to him to meet his company's end of the bargain. Most business's work on the premise that if the customer pays you money, you provide them a usable product. iBuyPower does not do this. Three months after I had paid them my money, I was still without a computer. One other problem I have with iBuyPower that I would warn potential customers about. Expect long delays when dealing with their customer service. And know the difference between their tech department, RMA department, and customer service. I'm still not sure what the difference is, but if you call the wrong department, you will end up being on hold twice as long. Don't fall for the automated call-back instead of waiting on hold - they never called me back when I tried. It can take a day or two for them to respond to emails. If the phone is ringing, let it keep ringing; it may take a few minutes, but eventually someone will pick it up and be more than willing you to transfer you to another department.I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!

1Steer clear
By Jagermeister
I bought one of these directly from ibuypower.comIt arrived and a couple weeks later the keyboard began to mess up. One of the keys goes crazy at random. Ibuypower refused to send another keyboard, even worse than that, they wont even SELL me a new keyboard for it. 1400 dollars for a new computer I can't even use. And you can't even get parts for it when something goes wrong.
